About Us

"Whatever life holds in store for me, I will never forget these words: "With great power comes great responsibility."
- Spiderman

When I got pregnant, I felt the change.  I was becoming a future superhero.  That's right, I said it.  In my opinion, morphing into a parent (not just a mom) is just like becoming a superhero.  It's like the whole Spiderman thing... we aren't born this way but we become something special after getting "bit" by parenthood.  And what an awesome responsibility falls upon us the first time we get to see that heart beating inside us!

This blog is about that journey.  How we prepare and live our life as super humans.  We have super powers?  Read our first post to find out what we think they are...

In all honesty, I started blogging because I wanted to bring awareness.  Our son is currently wearing the DOC Band Helmet from Cranial Technologies because he was diagnosed with Plagiocephaly and I believe that if I had more information earlier on, we would be in a different place.  This isn't a serious problem and it will be fixed within 3 months.  Point is, we weren't warned about the issue.  When I read other parent blogs about all of this, I felt less alone and understood the process better.  So I wanted to add our information to the blogging world.

By day and late nights I am a working mom that loves her career as an entrepreneur in the crazy world of New York City start-ups.  But nothing makes me happier than taking the bus back to our Weehawken home to baby Lucas.  Am married to a wonderful working dad and we juggle and balance parenthood every day.

I hope that in the course of raising our son, we get to meet other superheroes, fight the villains, share stories about won and lost battles.  It'll be an adventure to explore the world of parenthood with the rest of you.  Raise your hand if you are a superhero of any kind and join our journey!

PS: Yes, I do love superhero "stuff" so sorry if the references get quirky!
